State Police are investigating a fatal dirt bike accident in the Town of LeRoy

On September 18, 2019, at 7:38 P.M., Troopers out of SP Batavia responded to Linwood Road in the town of LeRoy for a two vehicle collision. Further investigation revealed that a 2013 Kawasaki dirt bike operated by Michael T. Leubner, 21 of LeRoy, NY was traveling southbound on Linwood Road and struck a 2018 Toyota van traveling northbound as it was turning into a driveway.  
Leubner was transported to Erie County Medical Center were he was pronounced deceased.  Leubner was traveling without a headlight. 

New York State Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in this investigation.

The NYS Police are investigating a fatal dirt bike accident that occurred on Linwood road in the Town of LeRoy on Wednesday evening about 7:30p.m.

According to State Police, a van was headed north on Linwood road and was turning left into a driveway when the dirt bike, which was headed south on Linwood road, struck the van on the front passenger side door.

The 21 year old male dirt bike driver was being transported to the hospital, when he passed away en route to the hospital.

There was airbag deployment in the van. It is unknown how many occupants were in the van at the time and if they sustained any injuries in the accident. The accident occurred on Linwood road between Rt. 5 and Harris road.

State Police were on scene with their accident reconstruction team until almost midnight. They are investigating the cause of the accident and more information will be released later today.
