As part of Rail Safety Awareness on Tuesday, The Genesee County Sheriff’s Department participated in Operation Lifesaver sponsored by Amtrak.
Sgt. Michael J. Lute was stationed at the Colby road railroad crossing from 1130a.m. to 2:30p.m., handing out safety cards to passing motorists before they crossed the tracks.
Sgt. Lute says with a recent incident involving a pick up truck getting hung up on the tracks in Corfu, people should be more careful.
