WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Perry woman charged after allegedly driving past stopped school bus with stop signs and red lights activated

Stephanie E. Scharet, 33, of Perry, was arrested following a traffic complaint on Route 20A in the Town of Warsaw on October 9, 2019.

Scharet was alleged to have driven at full speed past a stopped school bus which had the red lights and stop signs activated, and Scharet was alleged to have been also using a mobile phone and holding a cigarette in the other hand at the time.

During the investigation, Scharet’s vehicle was located and found to have inadequate brakes to operate safely on the roadway.

Scharet was arrested and charged with reckless driving, failure to stop for a school bus, operating a motor vehicle while using a mobile phone, and inadequate brakes.

Scharet was issued traffic tickets and scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Warsaw Court on November 4, 2019.

Jeremy M. Lapiana, 31, of Dansville, was arrested following a traffic stop at 461 North Main Street in the Village of Warsaw on October 9, 2019.

Lapiana was driving with a non-driver ID only with a revocation for DWI, a suspension for failing to pay a driver responsibility assessment fee, and an ignition interlock restriction.

Lapiana is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, operation in violation of ignition interlock restriction, and unlicensed operator.

Lapiana was arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court where bail was set in the amount of $1,000.00 cash bail or $2,500.00 bond.

Lapiana is scheduled for a court appearance in the Village of Warsaw Court on October 21, 2019.
