BATAVIA POLICE REPORT/Highland Park teen jailed without bail after incident with juvenile

Devon A. Wright, 18, of Highland Park, Batavia, is charged with harassment 2nd/physical contact, grand larceny 4th, taking property from a person, and endangering the welfare of a child less than 17 after an incident with a juvenile on November 10, 2019 at 1 Batavia City Centre.

Wright allegedly stole an envelope containing cash from the pants pocket of a juvenile and then grabbed the juvenile by the wrist, causing them to feel threatened and fear physcial harm.

Wright was arraigned in City Court and held without bail. He re-appeared in court on November 12, 2019.

William C. Hofert, 60, of Dewey Ave., Batavia, is charged with DWI and refusal to take a breath test after an accident that occurred at 23 Dewey Ave. on November 5, 2019.

Hofert allegedly operated a vehicle while intoxicated and struck parked cars.

He was issued uniform traffic tickets and released. Hofert will appear in City Court on November 19, 2019 at 9:00a.m.

Casey L. Fitch, 30, of N. Spruce St., Batavia, is charged with unsafe tire, moving from a lane unsafely, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, DWI and driving with a BAC of .08% or more, after a hit and run property damage accident on Naramore Drive on November 6, 2019.

Fitch was transported to Batavia Police Headquarters and processed. She was issued uniform traffic tickets and will appear in City Court on November 19, 2019 at 9:00a.m.
