The Corfu Fire Department held their installation/awards dinner at the Pembroke Community Center in Corfu on Saturday evening.
According to past Chief Brian Schollard, the Department responded to a total of 155 calls in 2019 with Ed Fauth responding to the most calls at 90. Fauth was also honored for 65 years of active service and named “Firefighter of the Year”
“He’s always here this guy, for 65 years he’s been here,” says Chief Greg Lang.
“When I came down here tonight he was out shoveling the sidewalk off, every time I come down here he is doing something at this fire department. He’s always at the most calls and is very dependable.”
Lori Stiles was named “Service Person of the Year” She has taken a lead roll in organizing the fundraising events at the department and started the Corfu Fire Department Family picnic three years ago, which now includes neighboring departments.
“She may not be at the forefront, but she is definitely helping behind the scenes,” says President Steve Rodland.
The Department also had the most training hours in the County at 1600 after being runner up the last two years.
Casey Felski had the most training hours with 304. Jayden Eck had 292 training hours in an Honorable Mention.
