Press release
A 9/11 Healthcare Program Workshop team will be conducting a workshop to explain the laws, rules, regulations, and benefits of the four primary programs comprising the WTC 9/11 Healthcare Program.
These four programs are the WTC 9/11 Health Care Program, the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund, the 9/11 WTC NYS Workman’s Compensation Program, and the 9/11 NYS Retirement System Program.
Speakers scheduled for this important program include: Jeannie Kelly – WTC Healthcare Outreach Coordinator Matt McCauley Victims Compensation Attorney Alex Dell – Workers Comp and Disability Retirement Attorney Joe Cavalcante – NYS Workers Compensation Board 9/11 Advocate
WHERE:WHEN: Erie County Training & Operations Center, Saturday February 22, 2020, Auditorium Room 113 from 10:00am until 3:00pm, 3359 Broadway road, Cheektowaga, NY 14227. Lunch will be provided.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? ANYONE – Law Enforcement, FD, EMS, USAR, DMAT, DMORT, National Guard, State Agency, Red Cross, Salvation Army, spontaneous volunteer, etc., who responded to, and assisted at the scene of the 9/11 Incidents at the World Trade Center (including off-Ground Zero support sites), the Pentagon, or Shanksville should attend.
This is an “eye-opening” workshop. We encourage spouses and partners to attend, as there is a LOT of information to absorb and digest.
COST: No Cost! COST OF NOT ATTENDING: Not getting properly enrolled and certified in the program can delay or sometimes limit your ability to seek proper medical treatment once 9/11 related illness and disease begin to inflict damage.
WTC 9/11 Responder deaths are occurring at a pace of one every 2.7 days and this time frame continues to shorten every year. Responder death totals from the diseases will soon surpass the death totals from that day. You may not be sick now, but it is important to sign up for the FREE annual health monitoring and care. More and more WTC 9/11 Responders are being diagnosed with cancer every day and these cancers are very aggressive. It’s time to STOP saying “No, I don’t need this.” or “I’m not sick.” or “I don’t want to take away from those who are sicker.” This is about making sure you and your families are taken care of in the future.
WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS NEED TO BRING? Participants should attempt to gather any documentation that they may have, including timesheets, duty logs, run reports, travel orders, travel vouchers, photos, credentials, and any other related materials that they may have. NONE of these are absolutely necessary, but any corroborating information that can be submitted makes the documentation process easier.
This workshop was recently scheduled for erie county and was canceled twice. Do you have any rescheduled date and if not, where can i get the information from?
