WNY/ Democratic County Chairs announce McMurray as their designated candidate for NY-27

The eight Democratic County Chairs in NY-27 met in Batavia this evening at the Holiday Inn Conference room on Commerce Drive to officially vote in Nate McMurray as the Democratic candidate, 8-0.

McMurray will be a candidate for Congress in an April 28, 2020 special election and will be running against State Senator Chris Jacobs, the Republican nominee.

This will be McMurray’s second time running in NY-27. In 2018, Chris Collins came out on top by a slim margin with 1,087 more votes.

McMurray thanked the Democratic County Chairs for their support after the vote and then again challenged his opponent to a debate once more. McMurray says he wants to talk about ideas that will help the people in the district, and not resort to name calling.

Jacobs has not responded to the debate offer.

The eight chairs in attendance on Thursday night were: Michael Plitt(Gen. Co.), Judith Hunter(Liv. Co.), James Crane(Orleans Co.), Cynthia Appleton(Wyoming Co.), Jeremy Zellner(Erie Co.), Brittney Wells(Monroe Co.), Francine DelMonte(Vice Chair-Niag. Co.), and John Hurley(Ontario Co.) over the phone.
