WYOMING COUNTY/Early morning fire in Pike causes $10,000 in damages

Pike, Bliss and Fillmore fire departments responded to 4702 Telegraph road in the Town of Pike on Tuesday morning for a reported house fire.

The call came in at 3:45a.m., after a smoke detector alerted the three occupants of the home of a fire. The residence is owned by James Rutherford and Sara Campbell.

According to the Wyoming County Office of Emergency Management, a 220 volt electric line shorted out and started the floor joints on fire in a crawl space under the home. Estimated loss is $10,000.

Fire crew were on scene about 2 hours and no one was injured.

Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County emergency Management, Wyoming County Sheriff’s and RG&E.
