Batavia City Council held a Conference Meeting at City Hall on Monday night.
The Batavia Development Corp.(BDC) was on hand with a presentation of what City projects are in the works and updates on those projects. Also, how the BDC works and what their role is with the City of Batavia.
Three Public Hearings were held in regards to the tax cap, the proposed budget, which contains cuts and a 7.5% tax increase after a $700,000 shortfall due to Video Lottery Terminal(VLT) payments being discontinued in the NYS Budget. Also a Public Hearing on proposed water rates, meter fees and Capital Improvement fees and an explanation of the hike in water rates.
City Council will vote on the proposed budget at their March 9, 2020 meeting.
