Chairman of the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors, Jerry L. Davis, reports: “As of 1 p.m. today March 16, 2020, Wyoming County has had no confirmed cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) according to the Wyoming County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.
A previous statement out of the Governor’s Office was made in error.
It appears the positive case referred to by Governor Cuomo may have been a resident of a contiguous county, who had been misidentified as a Wyoming County resident.
There are 5 cases pending test results over the coming days.
Health officials expect that we will have positive cases as testing continues.
Over the weekend, three different samples were sent for testing. One was negative and we are awaiting results of the other two.
Additionally, three more samples are being sent today.
There are four people in quarantine. One is voluntary and precautionary and the other three are mandatory.
They all have been cooperative with our Health Department officials.
If you think you have been exposed to Coronavirus (COVID-19)and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your healthcare provider for medical advice.
Please don’t just present yourself at the Emergency Room or your Doctor’s office.
It is vital you call your healthcare provider in advance, which also allows for preparation ofpatients.Current measures being taken are to prevent and slow the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the health of residents.

The purpose of the Declaration was to allow the schools to close at their discretion and provide additional resources for response.
