On February 15, 2020, an off duty Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office employee observed a vehicle off the road on Perry Road in the Town of Sheldon. They advised Wyoming County Dispatch and a marked unit responded to the accident.
Upon arrival, it was found that Jena M. Croakman, 28, of Wales, had driven off the roadway and into a ditch. Croakman was showing multiple signs of impairment and submitted to field sobriety testing in which she performed poorly.
Croakman was taken into custody for DWAI and transported to the Village of Warsaw Police Department. A Warsaw Police Department Drug Recognition Expert performed a drug influence evaluation on Croakman and found she was allegedly impaired by multiple categories of drugs.
Croakman is charged with unsafe tires, moving from a lane unsafely, DWAI/ drugs, DWAI drug combination, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree.
She was released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date.
A Castile man was arrested for numerous vehicle and traffic offenses following a traffic stop on Route 39 on March 8, 2020 in the Town of Castile.
Sergeant Aaron Chase and Deputy Austin Harding were patrolling northbound on Route 39 and observed a male operating a moped on the wrong side of the road with no license plates and no helmet. The moped pulled into a residential driveway and the driver was approached by officers. The driver of the moped was identified as Timothy L. Baker, 61, of Castile. Baker was interviewed and found to have a revoked driver’s license from 1999 for DWI. Further investigation showed that Baker had been consuming alcohol and submitted to field sobriety testing.
Baker was subsequently placed under arrest for DWI and transported to the Sheriff’s Office for a breath test. The breath test allegedly revealed Baker had a blood alcohol content 0.08% or higher.
Baker is charged with unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, operation without a helmet, unlicensed operator, DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or more, and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, a class E felony .
By law, Baker was issued appearance tickets on all charges and released. He will answer the charges in the Town of Castile Court on March 23, 2020.
Sally A. Miller, 56, of Chaffee, was arrested in the Wyoming County Jail after she was committed to Jail on a separate arrest in the Town of Arcade on March 11, 2020.
While being processed by Jail Staff, Miller’s property was searched and she was found to be in possession of controlled substance. Miller was subsequently charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree and promoting prison contraband in the second degree.
Miller was issued appearance tickets on both charges which are answerable in the Village of Warsaw Court on March 23, 2020.
