Monday, March 23, 2020/9:00a.m./Press release

From the Emergency Operations Center, Chairman of the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors, Jerry L. Davis is requesting the public’s immediate assistance.

“Wyoming County Community Health System, Health Department and Emergency Services are in urgent need of personal protective equipment.

Specific needs are N-95 or procedure style masks and respirators, protective gowns, goggles and Tyvek suits or similar suits with liquid splash protection. This equipment will be used for frontline staff at Wyoming County Community Health System providing direct patient care, Health Department staff working with home quarantine patients, and first responders including Wyoming County EMS, fire and law enforcement. Wyoming County residents and businesses are being called to action.

If you have a supply of the needed items please email OEM@wyomingco.net, or call the Health Department at 786-8890 to make arrangements for drop off, or pick up.

I know Wyoming County residents are ready to help!

If you have other items besides personal protective equipment to donate please wait for donation center plans to be finalized. Instructions for donation of other needed items will be released shortly”.

From Brian Meyers, Wyoming County Emergency Manager, “Additional personal protective equipment is urgently needed. There is a supply on hand to care for patients and residents in all settings, however, regular vendors are backordered as New York State and the United States responds to COVID-19. A request was made through New York State weeks ago, that has gone unfulfilled. We must take action together and today as a community to meet the needs of Wyoming County residents.”
