The Redfield Parkway Homeowner’s Association welcomed several buses of veterans from the Buffalo VA as they were being transferred to the Batavia VA on Monday morning.
Residents stood out in their front lawns to greet the VA veterans with flags and signs. Steve and Elaine Watson alerted the neighborhood that the veterans would be arriving on Monday morning.
About 8:00a.m. the Parkway was lined with flags that are only usually displayed during certain holidays.
Dr. Mike and Sharon Kubiniec placed flags at the end of each resident’s driveway last week.
The Buffalo VA is transferring their long term care patients to the Batavia campus, the federal facility, to free up beds for acute care at the Buffalo campus.
