WYOMING COUNTY/COVID-19 Update/8 cases reported in the county/Telehealth offered to residents

Chairman of the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors, Jerry L. Davis, reports:

“Wyoming County Community Health System has launched its Telehealth Solutions. Wyoming County Community Health System’s (WCCHS) highest priority is the safety and health of its patients and staff.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, they have adjusted their approach to care and are pleased to bring the benefits of telehealth solutions to their patients.

Through phone and internet solutions, providers can conduct virtual care visits in real-time without requiring individuals to leave their homes. The technology enables convenient, online access to care for patients using a telephone, smartphone, iPad, or computer (with a camera).

To make a digital health appointment, simply call the primary care offices and make an appointment. Once the appointment is scheduled, a text message or email will be sent to you that contains a link to your appointment.

As our communities continue to take precautions to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Wyoming County, we want to ensure our residents have accurate information they need to stay healthy and safe.

Wyoming County hasa COVID-19 response line to respond to questions from residents. The response line can connect callers to the right resources in our local communities. The response line will operate Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 786-8911. Hours of operation will be adjusted based on the volume of calls. Staff ofthe response line cannot provide individual medical advice or a diagnosis through the hotline.

As of Friday, March 27, 2020 at 5:00pm the Wyoming County Health Department reports the following:

Quadrant Positive Cases Recoveries Deaths

Northwest (Attica, Bennington, Orangeville, Sheldon)1 positive case, 1 recovery

Southwest (Arcade, Eagle, Java, Wethersfield) 0 positive cases

Southeast (Castile, Gainesville, Genesee Falls, Pike)1 positive case

Northeast (Covington, Middlebury, Perry, Warsaw) 5 positive cases, 2 recoveries and 1 death

Other*1 positive case *As of 3/28/20 there is 1 positive case residing in another location

Total positive cases 8, 3- recoveries, 1- death

March 30, 2020 is ‘National Doctors’Day “, this is an annual observance aimed at appreciating physicians and all they do to help diagnose and prescribe cures in this ever changing environment.
