GENESEE COUNTY/LeRoy Police reach out to vulnerable adults with the help of Rotary

On Thursday morning, the LeRoy Police Department joined the LeRoy Rotary Community Kitchen to start an outreach program with a specific emphasis on the vulnerable adults in their community.

Officers and volunteers spread out throughout the village together walking the village streets and knocking on doors hoping to speak with residents to see if they need assistance with groceries, posting mail, or picking up prescriptions. Volunteers left a flyer behind for residents with important information and phone numbers.

As part of the program, the department will also be instituting a foot patrol in the residential neighborhoods to allow residents to interact with officers to ask questions and share their concerns being sure to observe the social distancing required.

The LeRoy Police Department says if you need help a group of volunteers are ready to respond.
