WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Orangeville man in two hour standoff with police after a violent domestic incident/West Falls man arrested for Predatory Sexual Assault against a Child

On March 20, 2020, at about 2:37p.m., Deputies responded to a residence on Krotz Road, in the Town of Orangeville, for the report of a violent domestic that occurred several hours prior.

Once on scene, Deputies observed a female victim with an apparent nose injury. The suspect was identified as Melvin Lensenhuber, 64, of Orangeville.

Deputies searched the residence where the incident took place, but did not locate Lensenhuber. The female victim was then transported to the Wyoming County Community Hospital for further evaluation by the Warsaw Ambulance.

Deputies later observed the suspect in the woods behind the residence and were able to make phone contact and determine the suspect was armed with a handgun. After several hours of negotiations, Lensenhuber gave himself up and surrendered to Deputies on scene.

Lensenhuber is charged with assault 2nd, unlawful imprisonment 2nd and two counts of criminal mischief 4th. Lensenhuber was later arraigned in front of Justice Fusani in the Town of Warsaw Court and was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of the DA’s bail recommendation, $20,000 cash or $50,000 bond. Lensenhuber is scheduled to return to the Town of Orangeville Court at a later date.

Assisting on scene was the Warsaw Ambulance and the New York State Police.

A West Falls man was arrested for Predatory Sexual Assault against a Child following the execution of a search warrant with the assistance from the East Aurora Police Department and FBI at 1814 Reading Road –Town of Aurora in Erie County on April 1, 2020.

The suspect previously lived in the Town of Java located in Wyoming County.

Nicholas B. Turnquist , 34, of 1814 Reading Road in West Falls, N.Y. was arraigned before Wyoming County Court Judge Michael Mohun and was committed to the Wyoming County Jail on $500,000 bail. Turnquist is scheduled to re-appear in County Court at a later date.

On March 31, 2020, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were patrolling eastbound on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon, when a vehicle was observed traveling westbound with what appeared to be no license plates.

Deputies initiated a vehicle and traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle at Route 20A and French Road. After approaching the vehicle, a license plate was observed on the vehicle hanging below the bumper.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Robert S. Jackson, 55, of Buffalo. A license check showed Jackson had 12 active suspensions on his license.

After further investigation, Jackson was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd, unlicensed operator, improperly affixed plates, and improper use of transport plate.

Jackson was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date.
