Chairman of the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors, Jerry L. Davis, reports:
Two residents of the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility confirmed to have COVID-19 passed away this weekend.
One resident was admitted five days ago to the Wyoming County Community Hospital. We are deeply saddened by these losses and wish the families comfort during this difficult time. I offer my prayers to the families and loved ones who are experiencing this heartbreak.”
Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility is currently treating two COVID-19 positive residents at this time. “The priority of Wyoming County Community Health System continues to be the health and safety of our residents, patients, and staff”, said Joe McTernan, CEO of the Wyoming County Community Health System.
Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator Dawn James states “We are working with both state and local health departments, and we continue to work hard to keep our residents and staff safe. We continue to screen all staff prior to entering the building. We have implemented the best practices in infection control and use all personal protective equipment (PPE) recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Department of Health (DOH). Each resident is monitored frequently for a temperature or any associated viral symptoms.”
As of earlier today, Monday, April 13, the Wyoming County Health Department reports thirty-four (34) lab confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 among Wyoming County residents. This is an increase of 1 case from Friday, April 10.
Northwest (Attica, Bennington, Orangeville, Sheldon) 9 positive cases, 4 recoveries.
Southwest (Arcade, Eagle, Java, Wethersfield) 3 positive cases, 3 recoveries
Southeast (Castile, Gainesville, Genesee Falls, Pike) 7 positive cases 6 recoveries
Northeast (Covington, Middlebury, Perry, Warsaw) 15 positive cases, 8 recoveries, 3 deaths
TOTAL 34 positive cases, 21 recoveries, 3 deaths
