WYOMING COUNTY/COVID-19 Update/One new case reported/Mask distribution scheduled, testing available

Chairman of the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors, Jerry L. Davis, reports:

As of earlier today, Monday, May 18, the Wyoming County Health Department reports seventy-six (76) lab confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 among Wyoming County residents. That is an increase of one (1) from Friday, May 15th.

Face Mask Distribution:

Face masks are being distributed through the Town and Village offices throughout Wyoming County and can also be picked up at the YMCA located at 115 Linwood Ave., Warsaw, Thursday, May 21st from 10am-2pm or until out.


The Wyoming County Health Department reports:

COVID-19 Community Testing Available in Wyoming County (new):
Health Mart Pharmacies are participating as community collection sites in partnership with eTrueNorth, a contractor of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide access to COVID-19 diagnostic tests. Testing services for patients meeting eligibility requirements are now available. Tests will be provided at no cost to eligible patients at this time and are available to residents of Wyoming County, beginning Tuesday, May 19, 2020.
How it works: 1. Check to see if you’re eligible to take the test by visiting https://doineedacovid19test.com/ to answer a few simple questions.

  1. Schedule an appointment. If you’re eligible for testing, find a location near you to schedule an appointment.
  2. Bring your voucher and ID on the day of your test. If you receive an appointment, you must print and bring your test voucher with you on the day of your test, along with proof of identity.
  3. What to expect on the day of the test. Stay in your car. Authorized personnel onsite will provide you with a self-administered test kit and instructions to perform the test. They will also monitor you to make sure you’re performing the test correctly.
  4. Notification of test results. You will be emailed a link to view your results within 3–5 business days

Northwest (*Attica, Bennington, Orangeville, Sheldon) 26 positive cases, 24 recoveries.

Southwest (Arcade, Eagle, Java, Wethersfield) 13 positive cases, 12 recoveries.

Southeast (Castile, Gainesville, Genesee Falls, Pike) 15 positive cases, 15 recoveries.

Northeast (Covington, Middlebury, Perry, Warsaw) 22 positive cases, 12 recoveries, 5 deaths.

TOTAL– 76 positive cases, 63 recoveries, 5 deaths

*Two (2) of the cases reported in the Northwest Quadrant are attributed to the Attica Correctional Facility.
