GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Hutchins street woman accused of falsifying paperwork at DSS

Heidi M. Connolly, 44, of Hutchins St., Batavia, is charged with 7 counts of filing a false instrument for filing 1st, a felony, and grand larceny 3rd, a felony, after allegedly falsifying paperwork at the Genesee County Department of Social Services building.

Connolly fraudulently received $3,631 in benefits between October 2018 and October 2019.

Connolly was arrested May 28, 2020 and was arraigned by Judge Rogers, acting as a Genesee County Court Judge.

She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Genesee County Court on July 7, 2020 at 11:00a.m.

The incident is being investigated by Genesee County Department of Social Services Fraud Investigator Robert Riggi and Deputy Erik Andre.

Dillen A. Merrell, 24, of Bernd Rd., LeRoy, is charged with assault 3rd following a complaint on Ellicott street road in Bethany on May 22, 2020.

Merrell was arraigned in Genesee County Court by Judge Zambito and will re-appear on August 11, 2020 at 10:00a.m.

Christopher M. Smith, 26, of Pratt Rd., Batavia, and James C. Malone, 23, of S. Pearl St., Oakfield, are each charged with unlawful possession of marijuana 2nd, after allegedly being found to be in possession of marijuana following an investigation by a Batavia NET officer an the Genesee County Local Drug Task Force.

Smith and Malone were issued appearance tickets and will appear in City Court on June 23, 2020 at 1:00p.m.
