Principal Paul Kesler and six groups of six traveled to Batavia High School Senior’s homes for a personal award ceremony in front of each of their homes on Wednesday night.
Margaret Andersen, who graduated third in her class, was the first student to receive a personal awards ceremony. She also received her formal appointment to the US Air Force Academy. Air Force Representative Dr. Steven Sharp presented Andersen with the appointment.
Andersen says there is a family legacy with the United State Air Force, with her grandfather serving along with her older brother.
In all 75 Seniors received awards.
A graduation ceremony is being planned at VanDetta Stadium on June 27, 2020 at 2:00p.m with social distancing measures in place.
