Press release
One of Batavia’s most popular dining destinations is now making its delicious meals available to customers in a whole new way.
Alex’s Place, the award-winning eatery known for its steaks and ribs, has partnered with StockTheFreezer.com, an online frozen meal order service launched earlier this year, to make a selection of entrees available for online order and delivery. Orders placed through StockTheFreezer.com are cooked fresh and immediately frozen, and then delivered, complete with reheating instructions, to the buyer’s doorstep. Visitors to the site can choose from a variety of single-serve and family style portions.
“We have been feeding our friends in neighbors in Batavia and the surrounding region for more than 25 years,” said Matthew Gray, Alex’s Place owner. “We are excited to be able to partner with Stock The Freezer to let people enjoy their favorite dishes from Alex’s Place in the comfort of their home while we all work to re-open our community and move forward from the past three months.”
In addition to purchasing meals for themselves and their families, visitors to StockTheFreezer.com can also utilize the site to donate meals to local food pantries and organizations.
To mark their kickoff on the site, Alex’s Place and Stock The Freezer partnered with WNY Feeds the Frontline to deliver 120 donated meals to workers at Batavia’s VA Hospital on Thursday afternoon.
“Our veterans are heroes, and the VA workers are the heroes who protect and care for our veterans,” Gray said.
“We want them to know how much we respect and appreciate everything they are doing and what they have been going through, especially throughout the COVID-19 outbreak and response.”
For more than two decades, Alex’s Place has been serving up sizzling steaks, succulent seafood, charcoal-grilled chicken and chops and its famous BBQ baby back ribs. Located at 8322 Park Road, near the New York State Thruway exit, the restaurant is known for hearty portions, a homey atmosphere and heartfelt hospitality.
StockTheFreezer.com was launched on March 20 by Nick Pitillo, owner of Osteria 166 in Buffalo and Villaggio in Ellicottville. The site has expanded to include offerings from several different restaurants across Western New York. Alex’s Place is the first restaurant from Genesee County to be added.
“We have been overwhelmed by how this effort has grown over the past few months,” Pitillo said. “Not only are people supporting their favorite local restaurants, they have shown remarkable support for important local organizations by donating thousands of meals. We are thrilled to add an iconic spot like Alex’s Place to the site and open the service to the people of Genesee County.” For information and to order meals, visit StockTheFreezer.com.
