The Pembroke community came out to celebrate beloved Social Studies teacher Greg Kinal on his 50 years of teaching, all at Pembroke Jr. Sr. High School.
A large celebratory parade filled with current and former students, parents and community members showed up in force to let Kinal, of Elma, know how much he is appreciated in the Pembroke community.
Kinal started his teaching career in 1970 and plans on continuing to teach. He says he is looking forward to next year. Kinal says he is thankful that everyone came out to spend part of their Saturday with him.
“I love this community, I have spent my whole 50 years here at Pembroke, I wouldn’t be anyplace else. It just seems like yesterday walking in the door, I can remember the very first day, and here it is 50 years later,” says Kinal.
