GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Rochester man facing felony drug charges after traffic stop in City of Batavia

On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, the Genesee County Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop on Washington avenue in the City of Batavia.

The operator of the vehicle, Randy J. Dumbleton Jr. aka Chubb, no age or address provided, is charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd, a class B felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd, a class B felony, DWAI/alcohol, unregistered motor vehicle, no front plate, switched plates, uninsured motor vehicle, consumption/possession of an open container in a motor vehicle and refusal to take a breath test.

Dumbleton allegedly sold a quantity of crack cocaine to a person prior to the traffic stop. During the stop, Dumbleton is accused of driving while his ability to do so was impaired by the consumption of alcohol/drugs.

He was arraigned in City Court via Skype, due to COVID-19, by Judge Durin Rogers. Dumbleton was remanded to the Genesee County Jail due to having more than two previous felony convictions.

Task Force members were assisted by the Batavia Police Department, Genesee County Correctional Officers and the Genesee County District Attorney’s Office.

Marshawn J. Singletery, 38, of Liberty St., Batavia, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd, DWAI/alcohol, registration display violation and operating with a suspended registration, after a traffic stop on Swan street for no plates on June 19, 2020.

Singletery was allegedly found to be under the influence at the time of the stop. He refused a Data Master breath test at the Genesee County Jail and was issued an appearance ticket.

Singletery will appear in City Court on July 29, 2020 at 9:00a.m.

Judd A. Farewell, 28, of Maltby Rd., Oakfield, was arrested on a warrant for grand larceny 3rd from May 31, 2020.

Farewell was arraigned in City Court by Judge Rogers and held without bail.

He will appear in Genesee County Court in front of Judge Zambito on July 14, 2020 at 10:00a.m.

Sean M. Refermat, 41, of W. Main St. Rd., Batavia, is charged with criminal contempt 2nd, after an incident on June 18, 2020 at an apartment on West Main street road.

He was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court on August 13, 2020 at 1:00p.m.
