NEW BRAND ‘OBSERVE GENTLY’ MAKES THEIR MARK ON THE WORLD THROUGH A CROP CIRCLE IN WESTERN UPSTATE NEW YORK

Elba native Collin Stucko has been unable to return home to California since the pandemic struck in March. Living out of a suitcase at his parents house, and furloughed from his regular job, Stucko started thinking of a way to get people to come together despite their differences in opinions and backgrounds.

What better way to do it than through clothing.

Stucko connected with three other business partners, Zach Frank, Vanessa Powell and one silent partner, to create “Observe Gently”, which creates clothing and accessories that spark a curiosity of exploring connections with each other regardless of background or belief.

To introduce the new venture, Stucko wanted to capture people’s attention and ask the question, “What would aliens think of the human race today?

The lighter part of of the G on the right, represents two different opinions, or thoughts. The darker side of the G, on the left, is what it looks like when people come together to accomplish a goal, getting past their differences.

With the help of his dad Marty, uncle Jim and friend Kevin Horton from his Elba graduating class of 2008. Stucko came up with the idea of creating a crop circle on a plot of land owned by John Starowitz and his family.

Starowitz says he remembers Stucko when he was growing up in Elba and was glad to offer up four possible plots of land for the project.

The perfect spot was a cover crop field on Transit road, just north of Watson road. The plot of farm land was not being used for any crop at the moment, and was just the right size.

Stucko then enlisted the help of his dad and his uncle who have engineering and backgrounds. The crop circle was planned using old fashioned math and then created by hand using hand held methods and tools. The four spent 10 hours perfecting the image on the Starowitz property in 90 degree heat.

Stucko explains the process of creating the image and what it represents.

One of the first projects will be the Observer Hoodie Pen Pal Program, where someone who purchases an observer hoodie will be paired up with somebody who might not be able to afford the merchandise sold. The buyer will be given pre-addressed envelopes and paired with a person who is completely different.

On July 22, 2020 a massive crop circle appeared on Star
Growers Farm on the border of Elba and Byron, New York.

The crop circle started to gain attention from the local community on Facebook and passersby.

The design represents a logo: the letters, “OG” on top
of one another, completely embossed to the earth.

New culture and clothing brand, Observe Gently, is behind this
mysterious shape. Observe Gently is officially launching their store
and human-interest content platform online at www.observegently.com
on August 3rd, 2020.

To coincide with the launch, the brand worked with the farm to
stamp their logo on earth, which represents two separate, yet
neighboring perspectives, each with a story.

The adjacent empty space remains open to symbolize life’s scenarios: there is an open ground for conversation and growth. After the response to the crop circle, the brand leaked three pieces from the
first collection, now available on their site.

Stamping this logo on earth is a part of their “Do Aliens Exist” campaign video, which expresses a wide array of beliefs and opinions on the idea of aliens, amongst other culture topics.

The goal of this campaign is to show that no matter how different our ideas are, at the end of the day we are human. We don’t know much about aliens or each other for that matter, so let’s talk and observe each other gently.

Observe Gently inspires connection and conversation where differences exist. Through their content and merchandise, OG encourages deeper perspective, compassion and empathy, with the goal of making the world a softer place.

Observe Gently believes in conversation over aggression and engaged dialogue over hostile debate. They are a community-driven brand, active on all social platforms at @observe_gently. They encourage their audience to get involved by observing each other gently on and offline.

“I hope Observe Gently can be a place for difficult yet meaningful conversation, gentle observation and even a place to disagree without being disagreeable,” says the founder.

Observe Gently creates clothing and accessories that spark a curiosity of exploring connections with one another, regardless of background or beliefs.

The crop circle is best viewed through an aerial vision of drones or planes flying by, but it can also be seen by those passing through Elba, New York on Transit Road, just north of the intersection of Transit and Watson Road. The coordinates are 43°07’00.9″N
78°06’52.3″W.
