The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a serious motorcycle accident that occurred on Rt. 77 in Corfu/Town of Pembroke on Friday night.
Deputies say three vehicles were involved in the accident that was reported to dispatchers a little before 9:00p.m.
A red 2009 Honda Pilot, operated by Garrett A. Stevenson, 20, of Clarence, along with two passengers Samantha P. Kolbert, 18, of Cheektowaga and a 17 year old female, of Clarence, was headed south on Rt. 77 and was turning right into the entrance of Sprinkles Creamery Ice cream shop, when it was rear ended by the motorcycle. The collision ejected the motorcyclist, Travis R. Hartloff, 26, of Attica, and threw him into the middle of the road, where a third vehicle, also headed south, struck Hartloff in the road. The third vehicle then continued traveling south on Rt. 77 towards Corfu, leaving the scene.
Hartloff suffered serious injuries and was transported by Mercy Flight to ECMC. The occupants of the red Honda Pilot were not injured.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Department is looking for the third vehicle that left the scene of the accident. The vehicle is believed to be a Hyundai Sedan that has front end damage and damage to the undercarriage according to Sgt. Andrew Hale.

The crash is being investigated by Sgt. Andrew Hale, Sgt. Jason Saile, Investigator Joseph Loftus, Deputy Kyle Krzemien and Deputy Brock Cummins. Assisting at the scene were members of the NYS Police, the Corfu Fire Department, the Pembroke Fire Department and Mercy EMS.
