o Genesee County received 3 new positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 279 positive cases
§ The new positive cases reside in Batavia and Bergen.
§ One of the positive individuals is in their 30’s, one is in their 50’s, and one is in their 60’s.
§ The individuals were not on quarantine prior to testing positive.
§ 2 of the previous positive individuals have recovered and have been released from mandatory isolation.
§ 42 new individuals are on precautionary quarantine due to travel from restricted states.
o Orleans County received 0 new positive case of COVID-19 maintaining a total of 288 positive cases
§ 1 of the previous positive individuals has recovered and has been released from mandatory isolation
§ 15 new individuals are on precautionary quarantine due to travel from restricted states.

Gyms & Fitness Centers
In order for these centers to prepare for potential reopening by August 24th it is important for owners and managers to review the guidelines, develop their business safety plan and read and affirm the detailed guidelines located on the NY Forward website.
Prior to reopening and inspection, gym owners and managers will have to adhere to the NYS guidelines which can be found on the NY Forward website and completing the following steps:
1. Develop a business safety plan,
2. Have an HVAC inspection by an approved professional,
3. Complete the affirmation for each facility location that they have reviewed and understand the New York State guidelines and will implement these protocols.

Once the business safety plan and air handling inspection are complete and an attestation form is submitted, Genesee and Orleans Counties will begin the process of scheduling inspections. All facilities must schedule an inspection within two weeks of opening. These steps must be completed prior to scheduling an inspection. New York State Agricultural Seasonal Worker COVID-19 Testing Opportunity:
The Departments of Agriculture and Markets, Health, and Labor are partnering with county health departments, Cornell Cooperative Extension, New York Farm Bureau and community health partners in Clinton, Genesee, Orleans, Ulster and Wayne Counties to offer free COVID-19 testing to agricultural workers. These counties were selected for this opportunity as these counties see the highest number of out-of-state workers during harvest season.

Travel Advisory:
New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut announced that as of 06/25/20 travelers from the following states with high coronavirus rates will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days.
· As of 08/25/20, states include: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Virgin Islands, and Wisconsin. Those violating could be subject to a judicial order and mandatory quarantine and potential fines.

As a reminder, any out-of-country travel will require a 14- day mandatory quarantine and travel to any of the restricted states will require a 14-day precautionary quarantine. GO Health follows the New York State guidance/requirements which can be different from the CDC and takes precedence over the CDC recommendations.

Updates:
Testing: If you are being tested for COVID-19 it is important that you self-quarantine until you get your test results whether you have symptoms or not. If you are symptomatic, meaning you are coughing, have a fever or other symptoms, self-quarantine even if you are an essential worker until you get your results back, if you have COVID-19 you may be spreading it! That means to stay home and limit contact with other people, even in your household.
Bowling Centers: Governor Cuomo announced bowling alleys (with 50% capacity) throughout New York will be allowed to reopen starting Monday, August 17, 2020 with strict protocols in place.
Face coverings and social distancing will be required at all times. Every other lane must be closed; patrons need to stay with the party at their assigned lane; thorough cleaning and disinfection of shared or rented equipment between each use is required. Remember you have to have your Business Safety Plan and attestations completed prior to opening. Reminder: According to Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 202.45, all non-essential gatherings of up to 50 individuals of any size for any reason (graduation parties, celebrations, weddings, or other social events at public facilities or private venues) unless otherwise designated (ex. Religious gatherings), are now allowed for those regions in phase 4. So long as appropriate social distancing, wearing cloth masks/face coverings over their mouth and nose, and cleaning and disinfection protocol requirements are followed. Be alert for scam artists:
The Genesee and Orleans County Health Department staff will always identify themselves, their position, and the reason for their visit or phone call. All staff have county provided identification badges that have their pictures. 4. Please note that certain states have a minimum age testing requirement. Check the site page for your testing location for details.
