PRESS RELEASE
On September 24, 2020, Troopers out of SP Warsaw arrested John C. Garcia, 22, of Wilmington, DE, for criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree, a class C felony.
Troopers stopped a vehicle on Rt. 63 in the town of Covington for speeding. Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from the vehicle.
A K-9 search was conducted of the vehicle, and a loaded handgun was in the glove box. Garcia was the passenger in the vehicle and stated that the gun belonged to him.
Garcia was placed under arrest and was transported to SP Warsaw for processing.
Garcia was arraigned before the Wyoming County Court Judge who remanded him to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $500.00 cash and/or $2000.00 security bond and/or $2500.00 partial security bond.
Garcia is to return to the town of Covington court in October of 2020.
