Five fire companies responded to 3855 Bartz road in the Town of Sheldon on late Sunday evening for a reported house fire.
When fire crews from Strykersville, Sheldon, North Java, Arcade and Wales Center arrived on scene about 11:32p.m., they found a fire that started in an attached garage with some extension into the house.
A car, a boat, a four wheeler, snowmobile, golf cart along with many tools were lost in the blaze.
The house and garage are owned by Richard and Dawn Zavarella. They and their family will be staying with other family members. The estimated loss due to the fire is $100,000. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Management, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department and NYSEG. Fire crews were on scene about four hours.
