WYOMING COUNTY/Malfunctioning de-humidifier cause of house fire in Warsaw

A malfunctioning de-humidifier in the basement of a home at 263 Wyoming street in the Village of Warsaw, is the cause of a fire in the basement that caused $30,000 in damages to a residence on Sunday afternoon.

Fire companies from Warsaw, Wyoming, Silver Springs and Perry Center responded to a home owned by Thomas and Barbara Ladelfa about 1:02p.m. on October 11, 2020, when heavy black smoke was reported coming from the residence.

Fire crews were on scene for about 2.5 hours. The Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services reports that the home suffered heavy smoke damage throughout. No first responders were injured in the fire.

Also assisting on scene with Wyoming County Emergency Management was Warsaw Police and NYSEG.
