GENESEE ORLEANS/Health Dept./COVID-19 Update/Four new positive cases in Orleans

New Cases – As of 2:00 p.m. October 20, 2020

o Genesee County received 0 new positive cases of COVID-19 maintaining a total of 345 positive cases

§ 2 of the previous positive individuals have recovered and have been released from mandatory isolation.

§ 14 new individuals are on precautionary quarantine due to travel from restricted states.

o Orleans County received 4 new positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 356 positive cases

§ The new positive cases reside in Albion, Ridgeway, Shelby and Murray.

§ One of the new positive individuals is under mandatory isolation out of state.

§ The individuals are; one is 0-19 yrs. old, one is in their 20’s, one is in their 40’s, one is in their 60’s.

§ None of the individuals were on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.

§ 3 new individuals are on precautionary quarantine due to travel from restricted states.

Travel Advisory Update:

New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut announced that as of 06/25/20 travelers returning or traveling from states with high coronavirus rates will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days.

· As of 10/20/20, the following states have been added to the restricted list: Arizona and Maryland.

The Governor is also encouraging that non-essential travel to Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut be avoided as they meet the criteria for NYS travel advisory.

· On 09/28/20, Governor Cuomo signed an executive order reminding international travelers entering New York from Level 2 and 3 countries to quarantine for 14 days.

· Those violating could be subject to a judicial order and mandatory quarantine and potential fines.

GO Health follows the New York State guidance/requirements which can be different from the CDC and takes precedence over the CDC recommendations.
