On October 23, 2020, members of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to Route 78 in the Town of Java, for a report of a motorcycle accident.
Eric D. Reinhart, 67, of Holland, was traveling northbound on Route 78 when his motorcycle exited the roadway and collided with a road culvert. Reinhart was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained life threatening injuries. He was transported to Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
Assisting at the scene were members of the Wyoming County Crash Management Team, North Java Fire Department, and Mercy Flight.
