WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Warsaw man accused of assaulting a man with a golf cart

Barney Pedraza, 45, of Warsaw, was arrested following multiple complaints throughout the month of November 2020.

Pedraza was alleged to have assaulted a male victim with a golf cart, having used the same golf cart to cause extensive damage to the victim’s vehicle, and having used the same golf cart to force entry into a structure belonging to the assault victim’s family.

On November 25, 2020, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office seized the golf cart and took Pedraza into custody. Pedraza is charged as follows:

Assault in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree (2 counts), Burglary in the Third Degree, and Petit Larceny

Pedraza was arraigned virtually in front of Wyoming County Court Judge Mohun. Orders of protection were issued for two victims, and Pedraza was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $2,500.00 cash bail or $5,000.00 bond.

Pedraza is scheduled to appear in Wyoming County Court on December 7, 2020.

On November 21, 2020, at about 4:36p.m., deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers from the New York State Police-Warsaw, responded to the area of Buck Road and Route 20A in the Town of Warsaw, for the report of two subjects wearing black trench coats that had just stolen a red Subaru.

A short time later a trooper located the stolen vehicle on the south dead end section of Dick Road and two subjects matching the description of the suspects were located walking northbound on Christ Road.

After interviewing the two subjects (17 year old males), a witness notified the deputy that one of the individuals discarded something into the ditch once the deputy pulled up to the subjects. The stolen vehicle’s keys were located in the ditch and the two juveniles were taken into custody.

Following interviews and statements, the two juveniles were arrested and charged with grand larceny of a motor vehicle 4th degree, criminal possession of stolen property 4th degree, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle 3rd degree and conspiracy 5th degree.

Both juveniles were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in the Wyoming County Court-Youth Part at a later date.

Following processing, the juveniles were released to their parents.

A deputy from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle operating without a headlight on Route 20A in the Town of Perry on November 24, 2020.

A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and after an investigation, it was found that the operator of the vehicle, Anthony E. Medley, 43, of Hempstead, NY, was operating with a revoked NYS driver’s license.

Medley is charged with inadequate headlamp and aggravated operation in the second degree. Medley was issued appearance tickets and is to appear in the Town of Perry Court on December 15, 2020 to answer the above charges.

Kyle J. Evens, 20, of West Valley, NY, was arrested following a traffic stop on East Main Street in the Village of Arcade on November 27, 2020.

Evens was stopped for traffic infractions, and during the stop Evens was found to allegedly be in possession of marijuana and smoking paraphernalia.

Evens performed poorly on field sobriety testing and was taken into custody for DWAI/drugs. He was then transported to the Warsaw Police Department where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert.

Following the evaluation, Evens was determined to allegedly be impaired by cannabis and unable to operate a vehicle safely.

He is charged with DWAI/drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree, insecure license plates, and unsecure cargo. Evens was released to a parent, and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Arcade Court on December 8, 2020 to answer the charges.
