GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Woman accused of stealing 72 packages of candy, 19 packages of meat snacks and 14 packages of beef jerky in Elba

On December 3, 2020 at about 3:09p.m., Genesee County dispatchers received a call of a woman stealing items from the Crosby’s store on S. Main street in Elba and then fleeing southbound in her vehicle on Rt. 98.

Deputies later located the suspect vehicle in the Town of Batavia and conducted a traffic stop.

After an investigation, Renee I. Brown, 40, of Harris Rd., Waterport, NY, was arrested and charged with petit larceny and aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd.

Brown was allegedly in possession of 72 packages of Starburst, 19 packages of twin packs of Slim Jims and 14 packages of Jack Links XXL original beef jerky.

Brown was also found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.

She was released on appearance tickets and will appear in Elba Town Court on December 23, 2020 at 5:00p.m.

Aaron J. Romani, 29, of Milestrip Rd., Blasdell, NY, is charged with DWI/drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th and unlicensed operation, after being located pulled over to the side of the road on Byron/Elba road on August 2, 2020 at 2:48a.m.

After an investigation, Romani was allegedly operating his vehicle while intoxicated by drugs, and allegedly in possession of methadone that was not prescribed to him. He was also operating his vehicle with an expired driver’s license.

Romani was issued appearance tickets and will appear in Byron Town Court on January 11, 2021 at 4:00p.m.
