WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Two time convicted felon on Parole, charged in domestic incident

Harry E. Diaz, 29, of Perry, a two time convicted felon who is on NYS Parole for burglary 3rd degree, was arrested following a domestic incident on Orchard Street in the Village of Silver Springs on December 5, 2020 at about 3:45p.m.

Diaz was alleged to have engaged in an argument with a family member over the phone, and then went to their residence, kicked open the locked door, and then choked the victim on a bed once inside.

Diaz then fled the scene and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On December 6, 2020 at 4:30p.m., following an investigation, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with members of the New York State Police and Perry Police Department, conducted a traffic stop on Route 246 in the Town of Perry with a vehicle Diaz was believed to be a passenger in.

Diaz was located in the back seat of that vehicle and was taken into custody without incident. Diaz was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he was arraigned virtually in front of the Warsaw Town Court (CAP) on the following charges:

Burglary 2nd, a class C violent felony, criminal mischief 4th, and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation

Diaz was committed to the Wyoming County Jail without bail, and an order of protection was issued on the victim’s behalf. Diaz is schedule to appear in court in Wyoming County Court on December 17, 2020.

On December 3, 2020 the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic incident that occurred on Perry Road in the Town of Java.

An investigation showed that Ronnie J. Sumeriski II, 38, of Java, NY., threatened a female subject.

Sumeriski II met with Deputy Previty at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, where he was arrested and charged with menacing 3rd and aggravated harassment 2nd.

Sumeriski II was arraigned in Wyoming County Court and an order of protection was issued for the adult female victim.

Sumeriski II is to appear in the Town of Java court at later date. The female victim was known to Sumeriski II. Also assisting in the investigation was the Wyoming County District Attorney’s Office Domestic Violence Coordinator.
