WYOMING COUNTY/Warsaw man pleads guilty to two counts of course of sexual conduct against a child

On Thursday, December 3, 2020, Faron Szymanski, 36, of Warsaw, entered a plea of guilty to two (2) counts of Course of Sexual Conduct against a Child in the Second Degree, class D felonies, with an agreed upon prison sentence of 6 years on each count with the sentences to run concurrently with each other.

The sentence will be followed up with a 10 year period of post-release supervision, sex offender registrations and a waiver of appeal. An order of protection continues to be in place pending sentencing.

Mr. Szymanski was indicted for crimes that alleged that he was over the age of 18 years of age he engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct with a child less than 13 years old. This involved two separate victims.

After the defendant entered the plea before the Hon. Michael M. Mohun, he remanded him and held him in jail without bail to await his prison sentence.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 21, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.

The People were represented by ADA Chelsie Hamilton and APD Adam Koch represented the defendant. This case was investigated by the New York State Police.

“This is yet another case of bringing a sex offender to justice with the hard work of my staff and members of the New York State Police. This sentence is the result of consultation with the victims’ families, the investigators and my staff. I am hopeful that this resolution will bring closure and allow the victims to begin the healing process,” said District Attorney Donald O’Geen.
