NYS POLICE out of Warsaw conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative in Wyoming County

On December 17, 2020, New York State Police conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative that spanned two townships and three villages in Wyoming County.

Three locations were found not in compliance with the laws dealing with the sale of alcohol to person under the age of 21, Warsaw Wine & Spirts, village of Warsaw, NY, Silver Springs Convenience Store in the village of Silver Springs, NY and Tracy’s Wine – N- Liquor LLC in the village of Silver Springs NY.

As a result of the initiative, Christine M. Jervis, age 64, of Wyoming, NY, Taylor N. Mattson, age 18, of Silver Springs, NY and James L. Downey, age 78, of Portageville, NY were charged under the New York Alcoholic Beverage Control law, section 65- Prohibited Sale to a Person Under the Age of 21. All three individuals were issued an appearance ticket to return to their respective village courts March 2021.

The following establishments were checked and in compliance, Crosby’s, Tops Market, in the Town of Warsaw, NY , Kwik Fill, 7-11, in the Village of Warsaw, NY, Perry Market, Walgreens, Crosby’s, Commodore Wine & Spirts, in the Village of Perry, NY, Carney’s Market, Marathon Gas, in the Town of Castile, NY.
