GENESEE ORLEANS/Health Dept./COVID-19 Update/22 new positive cases reported/wedding and catered event guidance

o Data Update –2/26/21
o Genesee County received 18 new positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 4237 positive cases.
 The new positive cases reside in the:
 West Region (Alabama, Darien, Pembroke)
 Central Region (Alexander, Batavia, Bethany, Elba, Oakfield)
 East Region (Bergen, Byron, LeRoy, Pavilion, Stafford)
 The individuals are in their 0-19’s, 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
 18 of the previous positive individuals have recovered and have been removed from the isolation list.
 14 of the current positive individuals are hospitalized.
 We retracted one positive resident of the Batavia VA Medical Center that was determined to be a duplicate.

o Orleans County received 4 new positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 2409 positive cases.
 The positive cases reside in the:
 West Region (Yates, Ridgeway, Shelby)
 Central Region (Carlton, Gaines, Albion, Barre)
 East Region (Kendall, Murray, Clarendon)
 The individuals are in their 0-19’s, 20’s, and 80’s.
 3 of the new positive individuals were under mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.
 4 of the previous positive individuals have recovered and have been removed from the isolation list.
 1 of the current positive individuals are hospitalized.

Gathering Size: Starting March 15, 2021, the Governor is allowing weddings at up to 50% of the venue capacity or up to 150 people (whichever is smaller) at weddings/catered events.

There are strict guidelines to be followed and Responsible Parties
are to notify the local health department if they plan to host in-person and catered events above the State’s maximum social gathering limit, which is 50 people as of February, 24, 2021.

Those who ignore the guidance can be fined and/or lose their license to operate.

There continues to be a maximum of 10 people indoors and outdoors for residential gatherings.

Social distancing, wearing cloth masks/face coverings over the mouth and nose, and handwashing, cleaning and disinfection protocol requirements are to be continued to limit the spread of COVID-19.
