WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Two facing welfare fraud charges

A Warsaw man is facing welfare fraud charges after he allegedly failed to report accurate household composition (who is in the household) to the Department of Social Services.

Michael J. Mead Sr., 33, is charged with welfare fraud 4th and offering a false instrument to file 1st, both felonies, after an investigation by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Social Services on February 22, 2021.

It is alleged that Mead failed to report his household composition accurately. By failing to report this, he received $1,476 in taxpayer benefits that he was not entitled to.

Mead has a return court date in March.

An Attica woman is facing welfare fraud charges after she allegedly failed to report household income to the Department of Social Services.

Donna P. Beitz, 67, is charged with welfare fraud 5th and offering a false instrument to file 2nd, both misdemeanors, after an investigation by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Social Services on February 22, 2021.

It is alleged that Beitz failed to report her household income accurately. By failing to report this, she received $1,455 in taxpayer benefits that she was not entitled to.

Beitz has a return court date in March.
