WYOMING COUNTY/Perry man succumbs to injuries sustained in fire

According to a family member, Al Kilanski, 68, succumbed to his injures on March 13, 2021, after suffering severe burns in fully involved house fire at his residence at 45 Gardeau street in the Village of Perry on March 7, 2021.

Five fire companies responded to a two alarm blaze at 45 Gardeau in the Village of Perry, for the reported house fire late on Sunday evening.

When fire crews arrived on scene about 11:25p.m., along with Perry Police, they found the home fully involved. The homeowner was able to get out of the burning home.

The owner/occupant of the home, Al Kilanski, was severely burned and was treated at the scene and then transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital in Rochester.

The house is a total loss. Multiple building exposures received damage along with multiple vehicles.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire companies from Perry, Perry Center, Castile, Silver Springs along with Perry Ambulance were on scene for about 4.5 hours.

Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Services, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, Monroe Ambulance, Mercy Flight, Perry Police, Perry DPW, NYSEG and RG&E.
