GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Three arrested after receiving benefits they were not eligible for

Christine M. Jones, 33, of Hutchins Place, Batavia, is charged with grand larceny 3rd and offering a false instrument for filing 1st degree, after allegedly filing SNAP benefit applications that either omitted or had false information enclosed, resulting in her receiving $17,197 in benefits she was not eligible for on May 1, 2018.

Jones was arraigned in Genesee County Court and released on recognizance.

The investigation was conducted by the Genesee County Department of Social Services Investigator Robert Riggi.

Trina L. Grimmer, 49, of Townline Rd., Byron, is charged with grand larceny 3rd and six counts of offering a false instrument for filing 1st degree, after allegedly filing SNAP benefit applications that either omitted information or had false information submitted, resulting in Grimmer receiving $8,104 in benefits she was not eligible for on January 1, 2017.

Grimmer was arraigned in Genesee County Court and released on recognizance.

The investigation was conducted by the Genesee County Department of Social Services Investigator Dakota Nicholson.

Dawn M. Puleo, 54, of Maple St., Batavia, is charged with grand larceny 3rd and four counts of offering a false instrument for filing 1st, after allegedly filing SNAP benefit applications that either omitted information or had false information submitted, resulting in $4,555 in benefits she was not eligible for on November 1, 2018.

Puleo was arraigned in Genesee County Court and released on recognizance.

The investigation was conducted by the Genesee County Department of Social Services Investigator Robert Riggi.

Erin M. Rutoskey, 34, and Angelina E.L. Escudero, 28, both of Columbia Ave., Batavia, are each charged with grand larceny 4th, criminal mischief 4th and conspiracy 5th, after a larceny investigation at 4133 Veteran’s Memorial drive on March 3, 2021.

Rutoskey and Escudero allegedly stole property in excess of $1,000 and they also damaged property.

Both were issued appearance tickets and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court on April 8, 2021 at 1:00p.m.
