WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Three facing drug charges after a suspicious condition complaint

A suspicious condition complaint in the Town of Warsaw led to the arrest of three adults on drug and weapon charges on March 20, 2021.

Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a business parking lot at 2319 Route 19 in the Town of Warsaw, for the report of three adults acting suspiciously and sitting in the rear seat of a white Jeep.

Upon arrival, deputies located a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee occupied by three adults in the rear seat, and one of the adults crawling around throughout the interior of the vehicle. Upon approach, all three occupants exhibited alleged signs of drug impairment, and it is believed criminal activity was taking place.

During an on scene interview, two of the occupants were found to allegedly be in possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia, including a methamphetamine pipe hidden in one of the occupant’s socks. Subsequent vehicle searches were conducted of the Jeep and an adjacent 2004 red Ford F-150.

3.58 grams of methamphetamine and a metal billy club were recovered from within the red F-150. Concentrated cannabis, buprenorphine, marijuana, and other paraphernalia were recovered from within the white Jeep.

The following subjects were arrested and charged as follows:

CHRISTOPHER D. MILLER, 38, of Bliss, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree – 2 counts (methamphetamine, concentrated cannabis), criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

AMANDA S. MALIK, 32, of Bliss, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree – 2 counts (methamphetamine, concentrated cannabis), criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

MARK A. WASHBURN, 31, of Castile, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree – 2 counts (concentrated cannabis, buprenorphine)

All three subjects were processed at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and issued appearance tickets. They are scheduled to answer their charges in the Town of Warsaw Court in April, 2021.

Edward J. Jaycox, 40, of Lancaster, PA, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon on March 20, 2021.

Jaycox was stopped for multiple traffic infractions, and was found to have a non-driver identification card with 17 active suspensions.

Jaycox is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, unlicensed operation, and failure to keep right. He was issued an appearance ticket to answer the charges in the Town of Sheldon Court in April, 2021.

On March 8, 2021, deputies received the report of fraudulent charges to a complainant’s bank card, and met with the complainant at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office. During the investigation, it was discovered that an 18 year old male had taken the debit card information from the complainant, in the Town of Middlebury, and used the card’s information to make 22 unauthorized purchases on the Google Play Store totaling $185.79.

Deputies interviewed the 18 year old suspect, who admitted he stole the card information without permission and used the card to buy video games on his phone.

On March 17, 2021, the 18 year old suspect met with deputies at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and was arrested and charged with grand larceny in the 4th degree, identity theft in the 3rd degree and petit larceny.

The suspect was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Middlebury Court at a later date.
