GENESEE ORLEANS/Health Dept./COVID-19 Update/One death and 24 new positive cases reported

o Data Update –4/21/21

o Genesee County reporting 4 new positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 4961 positive cases.

§ The new positive cases reside in the:

· Central Region (Alexander, Batavia, Bethany, Elba, Oakfield)

§ The individuals are in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.

§ 6 of the previous positive individuals have recovered and have been removed from the isolation list.

§ 7 of the current positive individuals are hospitalized.

§ We are saddened to report the loss of one community resident. The individual was over 65. We do not provide any further information to protect the privacy of the individuals and their families. Our deepest condolences to the families and friends during this very difficult time.

o Orleans County reporting 20 new positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 2785 positive cases.

§ The positive cases reside in the:

· West Region (Yates, Ridgeway, Shelby)

· Central Region (Carlton, Gaines, Albion, Barre)

· East Region (Kendall, Murray, Clarendon)

§ The individuals are in their 0-19’s, 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s.

§ 12 of the previous positive individuals have recovered and have been removed from the isolation list.

§ 2 of the new positive individuals were previously on quarantine prior to testing positive.

§ 4 of the current positive individuals are hospitalized.

Vaccine registration via phone: Both counties are offering vaccination clinic registration via phone – these numbers are for COVID Vaccination Registration ONLY. In Genesee call (585) 815-7168. In Orleans call (585) 589-3170. For both numbers ask for the vaccine registration help line. The vaccine registration help line is NOT associated with either Public Health Department. The individuals who answer the phone can ONLY assist with registering for a COVID-19 clinic, they cannot answer COVID-related questions.
