In the month of April, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department 911 Dispatch Center processed 1680 police incidents, including 602 events for Sheriff’s Road Patrol, 189 for the New York State Police and 889 calls for the Village police agencies of Lyndonville, Medina, Albion, and Holley. There were 552 Fire/EMS related calls dispatched countywide with 436 of those calls emergency medical in nature and 5 drug overdoses.

Sheriff’s Dept. Road Patrol Deputies handled 30 automobile accidents, including 8 with injury and 12 car-deer collisions. Road patrol, also, made 56 service attempts and successfully served 28 subpoenas, civil, or court papers.

The Sheriff’s Animal Control Division handled 80 incidents including 18 stray or loose animals, 10 animal bite complaints, 9 neighbor dog problems, and several other miscellaneous animal calls. In addition, 5 animals were taken in to shelter on a voluntary surrender.

The Orleans County Jail processed in 16 new inmates and handled 22 transports to other facilities, court appointment, or medical appointments.
