WYOMING COUNTY/Castile man facing felony predatory sexual assault and sexual abuse charges in indictment

On Thursday, May 6, 2021, Roger L. Ballard, Jr, a 27 year old resident of Castile, New York was arraigned on an indictment issued by the Wyoming Grand Jury for the following charges:

PREDATORY SEXUAL ASSAULT AGAINST A CHILD (A FELONY)

PREDATORY SEXUAL ASSAULT AGAINST A CHILD (A FELONY)

SEXUAL ABUSE IN THE FIRST DEGREE (D FELONY)

ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD (A MISDEMEANOR)

Roger Ballard, Jr. was arrested by the New York State Police on March 17, 2021 following their investigation into the alleged child sexual assault. During the arraignment on the indictment before the Hon. Michael M. Mohun the defendant pled not guilty and was then held on $75,000 cash bail, $150,000 bail bond or $200,000 partially secured bond. The matter was adjourned to July 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wyoming County Courthouse for argument on motions.

The allegations within the indictment alleged the ongoing sexual assault of a young girl that occurred between 2011 and 2019.

Mr. Ballard faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment if he is convicted of either of the A Felony charges. He is being represented by Raymond P. Sciarrino, Esq.
