Donald R. Read Jr., 49, of Mill Pond road, Byron, is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon 3rd(previous conviction) and criminal possession of weapon 3rd/explosives, after an investigation on Mill Pond road in Byron on July 6, 2021 at 10:09a.m.
Read Jr. was allegedly found to be in possession of a pipe bomb. He was previously convicted of a crime after being found in possession of a knife with metal knuckles on the handle and a separate set of metal knuckles.
Read Jr. was arraigned in Stafford Town Court for Byron Town Court and held at the Genesee County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in Byron Town Court on July 12, 2021 at 4:00p.m.
Assisting with the investigation was the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, the Genesee County Drug Task Force, the ATF, FBI, Erie County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad and the Genesee County Probation Department.
