On March 13, 2020, the Buffalo Diocese closed all unnecessary church functions, which included Bingo.
On Sunday evening, July 11, 2021, Ascension Parish opened its doors to Bingo again with the blessing of Father Glassmire
Organizer Fred Mruczak says its been a long year and he is glad to see so many familiar faces again.
Mruczek says before COVID-19, a good night was 100-110 people in attendance. On Sunday night there about 150-160 who showed up to play Bingo.
“People have been wrapped up at home for months, I think its been 61 or 62 weeks we haven’t had Bingo and they just want to get out, this is just unbelievable, I’m just happy to to see this,” says Mruczek.
