The 26th Annual Genesee Cancer Assistance Golf Tournament was held at Terry Hills Golf Course on Saturday afternoon. According to Norm Hubbard, the sold out event contained 38 teams with 152 golfers participating in the 18 hole scramble, with dinner, awards, door prizes and raffles following.
There were 63 sponsors this year and 300 tickets were purchased for the Grand Prize raffle of Taylor Made golf clubs, worth $2,800.
Todd Jantzi from Bontrager Auctions was on hand to assist with auctioning off the silent auction items.
“Last year this was not held due to COVID, this is a major event that we do to use funds for patients in Genesee County who have a cancer diagnosis. Everyone will get $600 this year. Spaghetti dinners and barbecues keep us going through the year, but this is our big event. We could not do bocce this year, but we were able to do golf and we were fortunate to be able to have the dinner, so we are very happy” says Sue Underwood, Executive Director of Genesee Cancer Assistance.
