BATAVIA/Over 700 compete in 2021 GLOW Corporate Cup 5K

Start of the race

The Batavia City School District has reclaimed the GLOW Corporate Cup, finishing first in the Corporate Cup team results with a time of 20:23, team members with the top three times were William Buckenmeyer(18:42), Kimberly Mills(20:09) and James Patric(22:17)

Batavia Downs claimed the title in 2018 and 2019, and last year the event did not happen due to COVID-19

According to organizer Steve Tufts with Merrill Lynch, this year there were 715 participants and 50 teams.

In overall results, John Schnitter of Geneseo, on the the Genesee Valley BOCES team, came in first with a time of 17:33.

Coming in second overall was John Bruggman of Batavia, a member of the GLOW YMCA team, with a time of 17:52.

Third place overall, with a time of 18:03, was Logan G. Clark of Batavia, a member of the Merrill Lynch team.

The first female to cross the line, 6th overall, was Kimberly Mills, a member of the Batavia City Schools team, with a time of 20:09.

The winning team keeps the cup for the year, until next year’s GLOW Corporate Cup 5k
