GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Investigators looking for assistance in identifying the operator of a UTV that caused damage to crops in a field

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is looking for assistance in locating the operator of a UTV that caused damage to crops in a field near Seven Springs road and Rt. 33 on July 31, 2021 at 1:34a.m.

According to Investigator Ryan DeLong, patrol vehicles attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a UTV on Rt. 33 in the area of Seven Springs road in the Town of Batavia, and the UTV failed to yield to the marked patrol vehicle’s activation of emergency lights and sirens, leading to a pursuit.

The UTV fled the area through harvestable crops in a field, causing significant damage to the crops as well as fencing in the area.

Investigators are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying the operator of the UTV. The UTV is described as white in color and affixed with lights that change colors while in operation.

Ray S. L. Saile, 19, of Judge Rd., Tonawanda Indian Reservation, NY, is charged with criminal contempt 2nd, after allegedly violating a stay away order of protection after being located with the protected party at their residence on August 10, 2021 at 10:41am.

Saile was arraigned in Alabama Town Court and remanded to the jail on $2,500 cash bail. He is to appear in Alabama Town Court on August 17, 2021 at 6:00p.m.
