GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Albion man charged after one vehicle accident on Downey road

On September 28, 2021, at about 11:31pm, deputies were responding to a domestic incident in the village of Oakfield and were notified that a suspect in the domestic incident, Robert C. Paris, 31, of Albion, left the scene in a vehicle that was headed south on S. Pearl street.

Deputies responding to the scene of the domestic incident observed a vehicle on Downey road that had crashed into a telephone pole, and in a field. A few moments later, Paris was located away from the scene.

Following an investigation, it was determined that Paris was allegedly operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition.

Paris is charged with felony DWI, two previous convictions within 10 years, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 1st degree, a class E felony, refusal to take a breath test, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, moving from a lane unsafely, no/inadequate lights and speed not reasonable and prudent.

Paris was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court by Judge Young and released on appearance tickets.

He is scheduled to re-appear in Town of Batavia Court on October 26, 2021 at 2:00p.m.

Joshua E.W. Sager, 31, of Washington Ave., Batavia, is charged with aggravated DWI/child passenger/1st offense, a class E felony, aggravated unlicensed operation 1st, a class E felony, endangering the welfare of a child, DWI/1st offense and passing a red light signal, following an investigation of a traffic offense complaint on Veteran’s Memorial Drive on September 18, 2021 at 8:22pm.

Following an investigation , it was determined that Sager was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol with a child less than 17 years of age inside the vehicle.

Sager is scheduled to appear in the Town of Batavia Court on October 14, 2021 at 1:00p.m.

Erik R. Motquin, 39, of W. Main St., Batavia, is charged with petit larceny after allegedly swapping price tags on expensive items to pay less for them while at the Walmart store at 4133 Veteran’s Memorial Drive on September 17, 2021.

Motquin was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court on October 7, 2021 at 1:00p.m.
